A lecturer, a free lance journalist and a lover of nature. That's me in a nutshell. But mind you I wouldn't fit in a nutshell!

I teach at St. Xavier's College. Since I teach in the Commerce section, I work in the evenings. In college, my activities include teaching, bringing out the Commerce college magazine Trends, bringing out a monthly newspaper 'Glimpses' and co-ordinating some co-curricular activities in the college. Occasionally, I take my students out on trips to the Borivli National Park and together we plant trees, recycle plastic waste and increase awareness of the need for conservation.

The rest of the day I write articles on just about anything. I have written for Bombay Times, Education Times, Westside Plus, The Sunday Times, Mid-day, Sunday Observer and magazines like Signature, Jetwings, Namaskaar, Inside Outside and New Woman, among others. I also worked as Assistant Editor of Inside Outside for a short while.

Currently I am also working on a project of the DEP, Manchester. I co-ordinate learning activities on sustainable development in four schools in Mumbai.

My greatest passion is forests and I have spent quality time in many forests in and around Maharashtra. The most memorable of these visits was my trip to Melghat. Except for Tigers and Lions, I have seen innumerable animals in the wild. I have spent several hours with forest personnel ranging from Officers to guards and have enough stories to tell my grandchildren.

I have also flown several kinds of wings. Besides paragliding where I did two extremely memorable (and hair raising) flights on my own, I have taken rides on a trike, a piper and gliders like the Blanik and the old, cosy, side-by-side seaters, the wooden T21 B's.

In addition, I have dabbled in Yoga, meditation and Mallakhamb, which is a traditional Indian form of gymnastics. Now I am also into registering domains and hosting websites.

I love to read and among my favourites are some of the works of Richard Bach, Khalil Gibran's - The Prophet, Rohinton Mistry's - A Fine Balance and Such a Long Journey and of course Dominique Lapierre's - City of Joy. Someday, I also hope to write my own books.
